In 2004, Carnegie Mellon University's Red Team traveled the farthest distance in the first-ever DARPA Grand Challenge.

Although they failed to complete the entire 150-mile route through the Mojave Desert, they succeeded at inspiring a revolution in how people get from A to B.

The success laid the roots for Pittsburgh to be one of the most influential technology hubs in the US. Below are a series of interviews with the characters who are building the future.

Bryan Salesky - Argo Ai

Lynsie Campbell - LaneSpotter

Mark DeSantis - RoadBotics

Griffin Schultz - Rapid Flow Technologies

Courtney Ehrlichman -  The Ehrlichman Group

Ryan Green - Gridwise
